Do you operate or work at a Medicare-certified hospital-based outpatient surgery department or free-standing ambulatory surgery center? And, if so, are you concerned with understanding and thus improving your patients' perceptions of your facility? Well, Press Ganey—an organization that provide CAHPS surveys—recently announced that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has authorized the new 2016 Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS) Survey.

The new OAS CAHPS has 37 questions that relate to the facility's environment and cleanliness, check-in process, comfort, communication level, patient's experience with the staff, doctors, and nurses, and the overall experience a patient had at the facility. This survey will not have its national implementation in 2017, but healthcare organizations that desire to implement it now can do so voluntarily via companies like Press Ganey and their "OAS CAHPS Early Adopter Program."

Why should ImageFIRST North Carolina clients/potential clients take this news into consideration?

As a company that is focused on helping our clients increase patient satisfaction at their healthcare facilities, we have cost-effective solutions that can help participants see better results from the OAS CAHPS survey.

We have helped many clients improve through our products—especially through our innovative Comfort Care line.

In fact, the results of a recent survey conducted at one of our client's facilities (Eastside Medical Center in Snellville, Georgia), found that after our Comfort Care line was implemented, patient perception increased by 500%! The results were startling because, before they implemented our Comfort Care line, previous surveys found that out of over 150 patients, only 30 of them gave their previous apparel line good reviews.
